ABOUT THE POSITION:
Collegiate Sports Connect is looking for a FOIA Coordinator to manage Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) / Open Records requests sent to colleges and universities across the country. These requests are a vital part of Connect’s work in tracking hiring trends and building our database of collegiate athletics professionals.
In this role, you will be responsible for submitting, tracking, and managing FOIA requests, organizing incoming documents, and following up with institutions as needed. You’ll play a key role in ensuring accurate and up-to-date hiring data within collegiate athletics. This is a remote position, ideal for someone who enjoys detail-oriented, process-driven work.
LOCATION: This position will work remotely and collaborate regularly with a small team.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Submit FOIA requests to colleges and universities via email, mail, and web portals based on institutional requirements.
- Track request statuses, received documents, and correspondence using internal systems (Google Docs, spreadsheets, and company software).
- Follow up on incomplete or delayed responses by reaching out to institutions via email or phone.
- Review and organize incoming data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain meticulous records of all requests, communications, and deadlines.
- Identify trends or delays in responses and escalate as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured processes.
- Excellent written communication skills, especially for professional email correspondence.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple requests simultaneously.
- Tech-savvy, comfortable using spreadsheets, cloud storage, and internal tracking systems.
PREFERRED:
- Understanding of collegiate athletics administration.
